Frequently Asked Questions
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about PM Master Quest.
What is PM Master Quest?
PM Master Quest is a unique, month-long challenge designed specifically for project managers. Each September, participants tackle daily challenges that help sharpen their project management skills. The event covers all aspects of PM, from scheduling and risk management to leadership and communication.
When does PM Master Quest take place?
PM Master Quest runs every September, with a new challenge released daily throughout the month. A new challenge is released every day at 4 AM (UTC).
How do I participate?
You register with an email and choose a name or alias and a password. Once logged in, all daily challenges become available based on the calendar date.
What types of challenges can I expect?
Each day, you’ll face a challenge related to various areas of project management, such as risk management, communication, stakeholder alignment, scope control, data visualization, and more. The challenges are designed to test your problem-solving skills and give you a deeper understanding of key PM concepts.
Do I need to be an experienced project manager?
Not at all. Whether you're an experienced PM or just starting out, the challenges are designed to help you improve your skills. The event caters to all levels, so you can learn and grow no matter your experience.
How does the scoring system work?
For each correct answer, you’ll earn 5 points, which means you can earn up to 30 points on some days. Although there is a leaderboard, the focus of the event is on your personal growth. It's not about competing with others, it's about enhancing your skills as a project manager. That said, a little friendly competition can make the journey even more fun and motivating as you progress alongside fellow participants.
Can I claim PDUs?
Yes! After the event, participants can claim Professional Development Units (PDUs) with PMI (Project Management Institute). PM Master Quest qualifies as a self-directed learning activity. You may claim 1 PDU per 60 minutes spent actively engaging with the challenges. The exact number of PDUs you can request depends on the time you've dedicated to completing the tasks.
Is there a deadline for submitting answers?
After September 30 at 23:59 UTC, the leaderboard is locked. You can still complete challenges after this time and earn points, but your score will not change your position on the leaderboard once it has been frozen.
Do earlier challenges stay open?
Once a challenge has been opened, it stays open for the entire duration of the event. This means that if you join the event on September 10, you can still finish the challenges from September 1–9 at your own pace, and you will receive points for all correct answers.
Are there any prizes or rewards?
Although there are no physical prizes, participants will gain valuable skills and knowledge in project management.
How do I access the solutions?
Solutions to each challenge will be released in October. These solutions provide explanations and insights, so you can deepen your understanding. You will also be able to view your own submitted answers for each challenge.
How do I stay updated?
You can follow PM Master Quest on LinkedIn to stay informed about news and upcoming events.
